Writing Tip: More Grammar Books

I’m creating this post together, it’s on more grammar books that I think authors can look into.

They were so helpful, and I cannot put enough emphasis on how important these books are for authors. I’m going every day through mine little by little to not lose the knowledge and I’m always trying my best to apply them to my own writing.

Let’s start with the first one.

The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation is a concise, entertaining workbook and guide to English grammar, punctuation, and usage. This user-friendly resource includes simple explanations of grammar, punctuation, and usage; scores of helpful examples; dozens of reproducible worksheets; and pre-and post-tests to help teach grammar to students of all ages. Appropriate for virtually any age range, this authoritative guide makes learning English grammar and usage simple and fun. This updated Eleventh Edition reflects the latest updates to English usage and grammar and features a fully revised two-color design and lay-flat binding for easy photocopying.

  • Clear and concise, easy-to-follow, offering “just the facts”
  • Fully updated to reflect the latest rules in grammar and usage along with new quizzes
  • Ideal for students from seventh grade through adulthood in the US and abroad

For anyone who wants to understand the major rules and subtle guidelines of English grammar and usage, The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation offers comprehensive, straightforward instruction.

The second one. I love, love the Dummies Series. I’ve read more books than I should in this series but they break it down so easy to understand. And you bet, that I got myself an English Grammar for Dummies book too.

Grammar Essentials For Dummies (9781119589617) was previously published as Grammar Essentials For Dummies(9780470618370). While this version features a new Dummies cover and design, the content is the same as the prior release and should not be considered a new or updated product.

For students competing for the decreasing pool of college scholarships, writing a stellar entrance essay can make all the difference. With discrete explanations of vital grammar rules, common usage errors, and the other key concepts people need to refer to most often, Grammar Essentials For Dummies provides crucial information to help students communicate accurately and effectively. This guide is also a perfect reference for parents who need to review critical grammar concepts as they help students with homework assignments or college entrance essays, as well as for adult learners headed back into the classroom and people learning English as a next language.

The Essentials For Dummies Series

Dummies are proud to present our new series, The Essentials For Dummies. Now students who are prepping for exams, preparing to study new material, or who just need a refresher can have a concise, easy-to-understand review guide that covers an entire course by concentrating solely on the most important concepts. From algebra and chemistry to grammar and Spanish, our expert authors focus on the skills students most need to succeed in a subject.

I recommend both books as well. I read all three of them on a daily basis still, even if I’m already finished with them. These three were some of the best books on English grammar out there. So don’t hesitate to grab anyone of the three that I’d mentioned.

You won’t be disappointed.
